- Step 1
In a pan heat 1/2 tsp oil and saute 2 tsp urad dal, 2 tsp chana dal, 2 dried red chilli and 4 no. kadi patta.
- Step 2
Add in grated potato and saute for 5 minutes.
- Step 3
Saute until the potato is cooked well.
- Step 4
Cool completely and transfer to the blender.
- Step 5
Add in 1 tsp tamarind pulp, 1/4th tsp salt and water.
- Step 6
Blend to smooth paste adding water as required.
- Step 7
Now prepare the tempering by heating 1/2 tsp oil and splutter 1/4 tsp mustard, 1/2 tsp urad dal and 5 no.curry leaves.
- Step 8
Pour the tempering over the chutney and mix well.
- Step 9
Finally, enjoy potato chutney with hot steamed rice or dosa.
