- Step 1
For Batter
In a bowl, add 2 tbsp besan, 1/4 tsp ajwain, 1/4 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp red chili powder, 1/4 tsp haldi, and water as required, and mix it well.

For Vada
In a bowl, add 3/4 cup mashed potato, 1/4 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp ajwain, 1/4 tsp haldi, 1/4 tsp red chilli powder, 1/4 tsp amchur powder, mash and mix it well.
- Step 3
Divide into equal parts and shape into round balls.
- Step 4
Heat oil in a kadhai, dip each vada in the batter, coat it well, and deep fry until golden brown.
- Step 5
Drain on absorbent paper and keep aside.
- Step 6
For Vada Pao
To make Vada Pao, slice each pao into half, place one vada, and add the chutney of your choice.
- Step 7
Serve it hot.
